The Central City Citians are into the Class S State Semifinals after a dominant win over Tamorao/St Bruno 64-25. The Citians opened the game on a 26-0 run before the Indians scored their first points with 12 seconds left in the opening quarter. Archie Goewey scored 25 of his game high 27 in the first half. Kruz Jackson added 14 and Jackson Mikesell added 8. Ayler Keller led the Indians with 16. The Citians advance to Thursday’s semifinals at 6pm against St Mary’s Catholic Alton after they eliminated Altamont Lutheran 50-45.
Our Lady of Mt Carmel beat Bartelso 44-25 and will take on St Peter & Paul Catholic who beat Bluford 52-51.
The Class M State Semifinals are tonight at Rend Lake. Nashville and Gallatin County will play at 6pm followed by Aviston and Joseph Arthur Middle School. The trophy games will be played on Friday night.
The Class L State Tournament opens on Saturday at 9:30 with Marion and Casey Mount Vernon followed by Trico and Mt Carmel, then Belleville West and Centralia followed by Carbondale and Belleville Whiteside.
