The Salem Wildcats fell to 9-20 on the season with a road loss to Centralia Saturday 67-26. Gavin Zimmermann had 12 hitting another 4 three pointers giving him 85 made for the season which places him easily in the top 10 in the state. Cruz Harlan scorched the nets for 18 in three quarters of play and Dustin Collins dominated the inside to the tune of 16. Salem is back in action on Friday night when they host East Alton Wood River. The Orphans improve to 25-2 and will travel to Carbondale.

Prior to the varsity game, Annies senior Jalea Shered was honored for recently surpassing 1000 career points. He is only the 8th Annie to go over 1000 points in a career. She also joins Orphans senior Cruz Harlan in joining the club earlier this season.

Also Orphans senior Darlye Jones has decided to continue his football career at McKendree University.
The Salem freshmen dropped a tight game at Breese Central Saturday morning 54-53. Payton Gullion led the Cats with 17 and Marquis Ettress finished with 14.
The SC Cougars fell to Webber 53-46 on Saturday. Callaway Smith and Max Magnus each scored 12 for the Cougars.
Also on Saturday, Breese Central beat Peoria Notre Dame 47-34, Flora 79-50 over Wayne City, Carlyle lost to Goreville 66-53, Mater Dei beat St Louis Miller Career 65-55, Olney over Mascoutah 46-34, Mount Vernon lost to Peoria Manual 57-43.
