Former Illinois star Malcolm Hill is getting another chance in the NBA. The two-time Second Team All-Big Ten guard has signed a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Hill, 28, is averaging 24.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.6 steals in 11 games for the Birmingham Squadron, the Pelican’s G League affiliate. Hill is shooting 51.6% from the field and 45.2% from three.
Hill has played 24 career games in the NBA, last appearing with the Chicago Bulls during the 2022-23 season. He broke through during the NBA during a COVID-impacted 2021-22 season, playing three games for the Atlanta Hawks and 16 games for the Bulls.
Before focusing on the G League and NBA in 2021, Hill spent the first four years of his professional career overseas, making stops in the Philippines, Germany, Kazakhstan and Jerusalem.
