Salem Police have arrested a 34-year-old homeless Salem woman for possession of a controlled substance. Police say the drugs were allegedly found on Raeann Ashley after she was initially picked up when found at a Salem convenience store at the request of Centralia Police. They were looking for her as a person of interest in a motor vehicle theft case. She was later released from the Marion County Jail on both charges.
Centralia Police arrested 49-year-old Michael Hawkins for alleged violation of an order of protection, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hawkins, who told police he was homeless, was taken to the Marion County Jail to await a decision on formal charges.
