The Class M SIJHSAA girls’ state basketball tournament opens tonight at Rend Lake College. At 3:30, Nashville will take on Breese followed by Smithton and Fairfield. Aviston will play Anna at 6 followed by Unity Point and St Clare O’Fallon. The semifinals will be on Monday and the trophy games next Friday night.
The Class L Tournament will open tomorrow morning with Carterville and Waterloo at 9:30 followed by Marion and Wolfe Branch, then Wesclin and Mt Carmel followed by the final game at 1:15 with Hamilton County and DuQuoin. The State Semifinals will be on Tuesday with next Saturday finishing up the season with the trophy games.
The Class S tournament is tomorrow afternoon. Trinity St John’s Nashville opens at 2:30 with Shawnee followed by Jonesboro and Holy Trinity Catholic, then Summersville and New Hope with Pinckneyville and Bartelso the final game at 6:15. The Class S state semifinals are Thursday with the finals Saturday afternoon.
