The Odin Fire Department was called to a home in the 200 block of Lowery Street early Tuesday morning to what they feared was a possible explosion. When they couldn’t find anything, a search began for the source of the noise. Odin Police finally traced it to a semi that blew a tire as it was coming over the US 50 railroad overpass.
Odin firemen were called out Monday night to the Mike and Cara Stallard home in the 2800 block of Choteau Avenue in rural Odin to a report of smoke filling the residence. Chief Greg Smith says the problem turned out to be too much wood placed in the fireplace. The smoke was ejected from the home by opening doors and using fans. There was no lasting damage.
