UNDATED (AP) — Caitlin Clark has set records on and off the court. The University of Iowa’s superstar guard is on track to do something never accomplished by a women’s basketball player — appear on all four broadcast networks in the same season. Clark and the third-ranked Hawkeyes host No. 14 Indiana on Saturday night on Fox. Iowa is featured in four of the six Big Ten regular-season women’s games that will air on either Fox or NBC. Both networks have left open the possibility of adding more games. Should the Hawkeyes reach the Big Ten Tournament final, that game will be on CBS. ABC will carry NCAA Women’s Tournament games on weekend afternoons in the first two weeks, along with the Women’s Final Four championship game in prime time on April 7.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Freshman Mackenzie Mgbako scored a season-high 19 points, Kel’el Ware had 17 points and 14 rebounds and Indiana beat Minnesota 74-62 to end the Gophers’ seven-game winning streak. Indiana has won nine of the last 10 matchups with the Gophers, including seven straight. Indiana scored 11 of the opening 13 points of the game and added a 9-0 spurt, capped by Anthony Walker’s three-point play, to build a 25-8 lead with 12:14 remaining. Mgbako scored 14 points in the first half and Ware added 10 to help the Hoosiers lead 41-31 at the break. Indiana made 8 of 10 field goals early in the second half to extend its lead to 60-39. Indiana’s lead didn’t drop below 11 points the rest of the way.
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Owen Freeman put up 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, one of three Hawkeyes to post a double-double, as Iowa used a big second-half surge to beat Nebraska 94-76. The victory is the fifth for Iowa in its last six games, with only a loss to No. 21 Wisconsin to mar the streak.
