The driver involved in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Route 37 near Violet Road north of Mt. Vernon early Saturday morning has been taken to a St. Louis hospital for treatment of injuries.
Initial information from the Jefferson Fire Department indicates the driver was northbound when she missed a curve, ran off the road, and then hit an embankment before rolling multiple times. The driver was found lying outside the car on the ground. She is believed to have been thrown from the vehicle.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies are handling the crash, but reports are not yet complete. The name of the driver has not yet been released.
The crash was reported at 3:03 on Saturday morning.
