The Salem Wildcat Bowling team won the Carterville Invitational on Saturday after a long day of bowling, knocking off Carterville in the Bakers Team Competition finals. The tournament began with 3 regular games in the morning session that saw Salem lead Harrisburg 3416-3333 and Carterville 3rd at 3269.
Congratulations to Wildcats Dominick Winkler and Ryan Detering for their individual awards after the first 3 rounds. Dominick was 1st for high series with a 780 (260 avg.) and 4th High Game (268), and Ryan had 3rd High Series with a 724 (241 avg) and 1st High Game (279).
Salem then entered the Bakers Competition in the afternoon and after seeding matches were complete Salem was the top seed heading into bracket play. Salem beat Marion in the opening round 366-330 and then knocked off Eldorado in the semifinals 442-356. Salem then shot 232 and 247 in the finals to beat the hosts 479-416.
The Lady Cats also competed. After the first 3 rounds, Jaeda Rollinson had high games of 195 and 193 to lead Salem. Brooklyn Hamilton shot a 182 game, Willow Amburgey a 172.
