The Salem Wildcats host Vandalia today as part of a make-shift Mega Day at B.E. Gum. Following the girls hosting Olney, Salem boys will welcome Vandalia staring with the JV game at 4pm.
The Cats will enter at 6-12 after winning last night at Roxana 45-35. Salem led most of the game as they jumped out to a 12-5 lead after the first quarter and led 32-20 after 3. Noah Nix finished with a double-double for the Cats with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Sam Greene led the Cats with 13 points and Miking Ettress made big free throws down the stretch and scored all 6 of his points in the 4th. Gavin Zimmermann hit a pair of threes and finished with 8.
The SC Cougars got an impressive home win over Cisne 61-49 behind 21 points from freshman Westin Neilson. Seth Bergman added 13. The Cougars also won the JV game as they will get set to host Windsor/Stew-Stras on Tuesday.
The Mount Vernon Rams head to Evansville Memorial today.
The Centralia Orphans take their 16-0 record to Mascoutah to play the Indians after having last night off.
