A 21-year-old Alma man appeared in Marion County Court for the first time Wednesday on four counts of unlawful delivery of drugs.
Two of the counts against Hayden Harper of Public Highway accuse him of delivering psychedelic mushrooms (psilocyn) to a confidential source of the Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force. The other two accuse him of delivering 30 to 500 grams of cannabis to a confidential source. The deliveries allegedly occurred in August and September of 2022.
The drug task force says some of the deliveries occurred while Harper was working at a tobacco and vape store in Salem that has since changed ownership.
Under the new cashless bail law, Harper was not eligible to remain in custody pending further court action. His pre-trial release orders him to have no firearm or dangerous weapon and not to leave the state.
Harper is due back in court February 13th for a preliminary hearing.
