Orphans, Rams Win CHT Openers

The Centralia Orphan improved to 13-0 as they opened the 80^th Centralia Holiday Tournament with a dominant 54-22 win over Chicago Bogan. CHS broke the game over with a 20-2 2^nd quarter. Logan Meier and Daryle Jones had 13 each to lead CHS and Dustyn Collins added 11. Centralia will get Champaign Central tonight after their 54-35 win over Kipp.

Mount Vernon opened with a 56-34 win over Walter Payton College Prep. Navontae Nesbit had 18 and Cale Maurer 11. The Rams play Carmel Catholic today after they beat Belleville West 68-53.

Also in openers, Marist over Cahokia 78-31, Chatham 46-35 over Dyett, Evanston beat Ferguson 76-58, Alton nipped MHEA 59-55.
