Salem Police report substantial damage to the northeast corner of a Salem home struck by a car early Thursday morning.
Police report that 21-year-old Diego Barradas of Brookside Avenue in Centralia was traveling southbound on North Miller Street when he crossed Boone Street and traveled into the yard of the Gregory Sprehe home on Oak Park Drive before crashing into the home.
Barradas was out of the vehicle when Salem Police and Fire arrived on the scene. Sprehe was sleeping in the room that was hit by the car and was struck by a piece of furniture pushed into him by the wall caving in. Neither required hospital treatment.
Salem Police also learned a 17-year-old Salem juvenile girl who was a passenger in the car had gone home before their arrival. She was checked at her home and declined emergency medical services.
The crash occurred at 12:40 on Thursday morning.
