The Salem Wildcats dropped their opener at the Duster Thomas in Pinckneyville falling to Carlyle 68-49.  Connor Tennyson did his part as the senior finished with 30 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter.  Matthew Guthrie had 24 to lead Carlyle with 17 from Rhettick Steinkamp and 13 from Jacob Ruscher.  Salem led early 9-8 in the first quarter, but the Indians finished the frame on a 15-0 run to take the game over.  The Cats fall to 3-10 on the year as they will be back in action this morning at 9am taking on Woodlawn who lost to Benton 75-40 in the opening game.  I’ll have the call on 100.1 FM and WJBDradio.com.  If Salem wins they will be back in action this afternoon at 5:30.
