A 22-year-old Centralia man has been sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty in Washington County Court to a Class X charge of aggravated criminal sexual assault.
The sentence was imposed after Isaak Clark pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting and strangling his girlfriend in August 2021. Lesser charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and aggravated domestic battery were dropped as part of the plea.
Clark is currently scheduled for trial in January in Marion County Court on another Class X felony aggravated criminal sexual assault and aggravated domestic battery. Both Marion County incidents allegedly involved a different girlfriend in September 2022. That incident reportedly happened in an apartment on Fairway Drive in Centralia. Clark is currently set for a pretrial hearing in the Marion County case on January 17th.
Centralia Police report the alleged female victim received numerous injuries, especially to her face and neck. She was transferred to a St. Louis Hospital for treatment.
