One person was injured in a single-vehicle crash on the Iuka Road just south of the Route 161 extension in rural Iuka Friday afternoon.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say 28-year-old Kenneth Smith of Cutler was traveling southbound on the Iuka Road when he missed the stop sign at the Route 161 Extension and then ran off the west side of the road, hit some trees on an embankment, rolled multiple times before the vehicle came to rest on its wheels.
Smith was walking around the vehicle when sheriff’s deputies arrived. He was transferred to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia for treatment of apparently minor injuries. No one else was in the vehicle.
The Kell Fire Protection District was called to the scene to assist.
The crash occurred around one Friday afternoon.
