Both the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and Salem Police are investigating burglaries.
The sheriff’s department was called to the old American Legion building on Madison Avenue in Kinmundy where the current owner reported a door had been kicked in. Nothing could be found missing. The burglary was discovered around two on Friday afternoon. It is believed to have occurred late Thursday night or Friday morning.
Salem Police are investigating two car burglaries. One occurred in the 900 block of Roddy Road where items were reported stolen including a debit card that was later located at a Salem restaurant. The other was discovered late Friday afternoon where a car had been entered in the 500 block of Roddy Road. Nothing was immediately reported as missing.
With the two car burglaries and two vehicle thefts last weekend, Salem Police are encouraging residents to lock their vehicles and not leave keys inside their vehicles.
