Centralia City Firemen were called late Wednesday night to a man apparently seeking shelter falling through the floor on the first floor into the basement of the old Langenfeld Hotel in the 100 block of West Broadway.
The man, who called from his phone to report what had happened was not certain which downtown building he was in. He was located by Centralia Police and Fire who had been responded to the area.
Centralia Fire officials say the incident had occurred just inside one of the back doors and they were able to get a ladder to the basement and help the man get out of the building. He was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia for treatment of a potential arm injury.
The man had apparently broke into the long vacant building which had recently had all of its doors secured.
Centralia Police say no criminal case was opened against the man.
