The Salem Lady Wildcats held on and hit enough free throws down the stretch to hold off pesky East Alton Wood River and earn a home win 52-44. Jordan Kessler led a balanced scoring attack for Salem with 12, Kayla Felgenhaur added 11 with 9 each from Natalie Lee and Kale Benjamin. Emma Gregg added 6. Salem is 8-5 overall and 2-2 in the Cahokia and are off until they open the Benton Christmas Tournament on December 27th against Harrisburg. The Salem JV also came away with a win 44-18.
Also last night in Cahokia play, Breese Central stayed atop the league with their 50-27 win over Freeburg. Columbia got past Roxana 55-48.
South Central knocked off Sandoval at home 57-42. Taegan Webster scored 19 to lead SC, Percilla Reid added 10 along with Brooke Cowger. Amiah Ray led Sandoval with 26.
