KC Upsets #24 OCC….Region Recap

The KC Blue Devils knocked off 24th ranked Olney Central College 90-84 behind 35 points from Kamari Slaughter.  Will Vasser had 18 of his 22 in the 2nd half.  KC is 11-1 on the season.  KC will host SEMO Prep on January 7th.


Vincennes 82; Shawnee 66

          After a narrow 35-33 edge at intermission, sixth-ranked Vincennes scored the first seven points of the second-half to grab a 42-33 lead and rolled to an 82-66 win over Shawnee at Ullin.

          The Trailblazers (12-1) got 22 points including 14-14 from the free throw line from Lebron Thomas, 18 points by Damarien Yates and a 17-point, 13 rebound effort from Michael Osei-Bonsu, his fourth double-double of the season.

          Ladricus Pittman scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half to pace the 6-4 Saints while Tray’von Thomas netted ten.

          The Trailblazers meshed 29-34 free throw attempts.

          VU played with usual starters Kris King (11.4 ppg) his twin-both (8.3 ppg) who were suspended for the game by coach Todd Franklin.


SWIC 74; Lincoln Trail 73

          SWIC crept over the .500 mark (7-6) with a come-from-behind 74-73 win at Lincoln Trail after the 4-8 Statesmen took a 42-32 advantage into the break.

          Nazier Leonard topped the Blue Storm with 19 points. Saxton Hoepker scored 17 while Dallas Rufus netted fifteen.

          Shay Awuwoloye of LTC led all scorers with 21 points. Cadden Huttenlocker and Marion Bennent scored twelve points each.


Lake Land 82; Rend Lake 72

          Lake Land found the victory column for an 82-72 win over Rend Lake at Ina.

          The Lakers (9-3) were led by Aaron Davis who scored 19 of his 25 points in the final half. Johnny Jones added 13 points while Amaahd Roberts scored twelve.

          Justin King of Rend Lake led all scorers with 29 points including 22 in the final half. Greg Cole and Mason Ribble had 12 points each for the 3-8 Warriors.
