A 29-year-old Marshall man has been sentenced to 41 months in prison for making a bomb threat to the North American Lighting Plant in Paris.
The US Attorney’s office reports Justin Switzer pleaded guilty to one count of willfully threatening the use of explosives. He admitted to calling in the bomb threat on November 2nd, 2022, and stating ‘two minutes to detonation’. In response to the bomb threat, North American Lighting evacuated personnel which caused the company to lose approximately $456,000 in gross revenue. In addition to the prison term, Switzer was ordered to pay $456,000 in restitution.
The FBI and Homeland Security assisted in the investigation.
