A 34-year-old Centralia man was injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash Friday night on Old Centralia Lane south of Walnut Hill Road in rural Walnut Hill.
Initial information indicates the vehicle driven by 34-year-old Blake Finney of South Perrine Street lost control when swerving to miss a deer and went down a ten foot embankment next to a culvert.
Centralia Fire Protection District officials say the vehicle landed on its wheels, but they had to cut out the driver’s side rear door in order to get Finney out. He was later transported to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia via Lifestar Ambulance for treatment of injury.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies initially responded but turned over the investigation to Jefferson County after it was determined the crash was over the county line in Jefferson County.
The crash was first reported at 9:34 Friday night.
