The 35th Capital Classic tips off today along with the Salem Wildcats season. Salem will begin at 12:30 today with a game against Teutopolis followed tonight by a 7:30 start against Red Hill before finishing pool play tomorrow morning at 11:30 against Olney. The tournament will finish up tomorrow evening. The first game from Red Hill today will see Olney and the hosts at 11 and then tonight TTown will take on Red Hill at 6pm. At Lawrenceville today its Grayville and Vincennes at 11 followed by Lawrenceville and Fairfield and then tonight its Fairfield and Gravyville followed by Vincennes and Lawrenceville.
The Centralia Orphans won their pool at Roxana with a Wednesday win over Freeburg 63-24. Centralia will play tonight at 6pm in the Gold Bracket semifinal against Gateway Legacy followed by Roxana and Carbondale.
In the Silver bracket its Freeburg taking on Marquette followed by Gibault and Civic Memorial. In the Bronze Bracket, Staunton plays Wood River followed by Jerseyville and Piasa Southwestern.
The SC Cougars return to Mulberry Grove today to finish pool play. The Cougars are 2-0 on the season and will play CHBC today at 6:45. It’s the middle game of the day with Mt Olive and St Elmo/Brownstown playing before and Lebanon and Father McGivney will follow.
At Christopher, Odin/Patoka will play for the Consolation championship tomorrow when they play the winner of Marissa/Coulterville and Zeiger/Royalton who play tonight at 6:15. Odin/Patoka is coming off a 75-48 win over Thompsonville on Wednesday. In the win, Landreth had 34 to pace OP. Tyler Huffman added 11. The other game tonight is Webber playing Waltonville, that winner will play Christopher for the championship tomorrow night. The loser gets New Athens in the 3rd place game.
Sandoval returns to Elverado Tournament action today with their consolation semifinal at 11:30 with Agape Christian. That is followed by Murphysboro JV and Pope County. Then the championship semifinals start at 2:30 with Galatia and Carterville JV followed by Crab Orchard and Elverado.
At Wesclin Tip Off Tournament today, Christ Our Rock takes on Wesclin at 6 followed by Columbia and Nashville.
At Cumberland the day begins at 3pm with Okaw Valley and Dieterich followed at 4:30 by Vandalia and Cumberland. Then the championship semifinals at 6pm will see Newton and North Clay followed by Casey Westfield and Marshall.
At St Anthony today, Rantoul and Belleville East start at 3 followed by Robinson and Breese Central, Mattoon and Champaign Central and the final pool play game is at 7:30 with Effingham playing St Anthony.
