Marion County, as Trustee, is now seeking sealed bids on 132 real estate and 44 mobile home properties to cover delinquent taxes.

The properties involved were delinquent for real estate properties that have had no taxes paid since 2019 and mobile homes that were delinquent for 2020 and prior real estate taxes.

Written seal bids are being sought for the properties through the close of business this Friday at the Marion County Treasurer’s office at the courthouse or online via www.iltaxsalebids.com no later than the close of business on November 3rd.

The sale of these lots and mobile homes should be a major benefit to both the Taxing Districts and the neighboring property owners. This sale will place the real estate and mobile homes into the hands of individuals who have an interest in owning them. The County, as Trustee, hopes that these new owners will both maintain the property and the mobile homes and keep the taxes paid. By eliminating abandoned properties, the appearance of the neighborhood should improve and the value of adjoining properties should increase.

The required minimum bid on real estate is $832.00, and on mobile homes is $915.00. All items will be sold to the highest sealed bid received on or before November 3, 2023. Complete bidder’s packets and sale catalogs are now available at the Marion County Treasurer’s Office or online at www.iltaxsale.com.
