Area volleyball teams prepare this weekend for Monday’s Sectionals across the state.
Salem prepares to travel to the Mascoutah 3a Sectional after Friday’s championship win at Triad over top-seed Highland. The Lady Cats get their 3rd shot of the season at Freeburg in the night’s 2nd game at 7pm. The first game will feature Effingham and Mascoutah.
In 2a Sectionals at Greenville, Breese Central plays Shelbyville followed by Mater Dei and Staunton. Pinckneyville will host Fairfield followed by Massac County and Carmi.
In 1a at Nokomis, its Valmeyer playing the hosts followed by St Anthony and Hardin Calhoun. Windsor is the site for Cerro Gordo and LeRoy followed by the host Lady Hatchets and Judah Christian.
In 4a at Pekin, O’Fallon and Belleville West will play their match at Collinsville High School with the winner playing either Minooka or Normal West.
