The Salem Lady Wildcats won their 3a regional semifinal at Triad over the host Lady Knights dropping the first set 16-25 before coming back to win 25-20 and 25-22. They advance to play Highland in Thursday’s championship after their straight-sets win over Jerseyville.
Also in 3a regionals, at Effingham it was the hosts beating Charleston and Civic Memorial beat Olney. At Mount Vernon, Mascoutah beat Marion and Herrin eliminated Centralia 25-15, 25-22. At Waterloo, Carbondale beat Cahokia and Freeburg over Waterloo.
In 2a regional semifinals, Breese Central beat Roxana and will play Althoff in the finals after their win over Wesclin. At DuQuoin, Pinckneyville beat Benton and Carterville over DuQuoin. At Hamilton County, Fairfield beat TTown and Mt Carmel over the hosts. At Nashville, Mater Dei beat Carlyle and Columbia over Nashville.
In 1a regional quarterfinals at St Elmo, St Anthony advanced with a 25-8, 25-13 win over Patoka. South Central also advanced with a win over CHBC 25-12, 25-12. North Clay already earned a forfeit win over Altamont in the semifinal, so SC and St Anthony will play at 6 pm for a trip to the finals against the Lady Cardinals.
At Raymond Lincolnwood tonight, Christ Our Rock takes on Nokomis at 7 p.m.
At Wayne City, Woodlawn plays Trico at 6.
