The IHSA State Tennis Tournament is underway at Buffalo Grove High School and surrounding sites after Sectionals were held earlier in the week.
Salem’s double team of Ella Robinson and Madison Keserauskis fell in their opening round to Centralia’s Madison Francois and Olivia Neudecker. The Annie duo would go on and beat Mount Vernon’s team of Brands and Ibba before falling in the semifinals.
Salem’s other team of Marley Donoho and Shayla Prosise fell to the Benton team of Tonn and Andrews.
In singles, Salem’s Lauren Burge earned a 3-set win in her opening match over Benton’s Alivia Thomas before falling to Carbondale’s Lauren Miller in the 2nd round. Salem’s Avery Robinson fell to Marin’s Rylan Gulley in her opening match.
Individually, Centralia’s Sophi Barrow finished 2nd and advanced to state along with the Mount Vernon doubles team of Maria Ibba and Brylie Brands.
