2024 10/20 – Jeffrey Scott Peppenhorst

By Bruce Kropp Oct 20, 2023 | 3:21 PM

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeffrey Scott Peppenhorst, a devoted father, son, brother, and friend.

Born with the soul of a farmer, Jeff embraced life with humility and a deep connection to his Illinois farmland.  His passion for the St. Louis Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys remained steadfast, no matter their wins or losses.  He stood by them, just as he stood by those he loved – through the good times and the bad.

To his children, Ryan, Allyson, and Tyler Peppenhorst, Jeff was more than just a father.  He was their superhero, always there with unwavering support, a listening ear, and endless love.  He was their biggest fan, cheering them on in every endeavor, with humor and a dimple that could brighten even the darkest of days.

Jeff is survived by his three children; his beloved mother, Linda Peppenhorst; his brother, John Peppenhorst (Gina); his sister, Lori Spalding (Darin); his nieces, Madison Peppenhorst and Ava Spalding; his nephews, Carson and Kennet Spalding; as well as loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.    He is now reunited with his father, John, and dancing with Jesus, free of pain.  His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.

We will celebrate Jeff’s life on Sunday, October 20, 2024, gathering together to honor the man who found joy in the simple things – bonfires with his dog, Shadow, Euchre tournaments with family, and spending quality time with loved ones.  He will forever be remembered for his quiet strength, his love for the land, and his endless devotion to those he held dear.  A graveside service will be held at St. Mary Cemetery in Carlyle, IL on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 11:30 A.M.  Following the graveside service, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Peppenhorst Family Farm, 15717 Lowe Road, Bartelso, IL.  Condolences may be shared by visiting www.ZierenFuneralHome.com.
