In middle school volleyball, the St Peter Saints made the gold bracket of the 33rd annual Christ Lutheran Varsity Tournament. They earned a win over Trinity Cedar Rapids and Trinity Springfield with losses to Our Saviors Springfield, Zion Bethalto and Zion Staunton. The Lady Saints have no 8th graders on their roster.
Coach Kristi Kraemer said, “This is a team to be proud of ! They fought hard all weekend taking several of our games to 3 sets. We heard several compliments about how fun these girls are to watch on the court! We were often underestimated and made the other team work hard as we were the only team there with no 8th graders! Many other teams cheered us on and we tried to reciprocate. Our girls showed great sportsmanship! Great job this weekend girls!”
