Salem Girls 5th, Stroud 25th, Boehne 18th all advance to State Golf Final Day

The Salem Lady Wildcats currently are 5th with room to move up heading into the 1a girls golf final round today.  Mt Carmel is the top team with their 321 followed by Sacred Heart Griffin 336, Massac County 342, Peoria Notre Dame 346 and then Salem at 347.  Salem was led by Taylor Ice who is in the top 10 after the first day following her 79.  Alyssa Paul added 87, Jaryn Haarmann 89, Mya Russell 92, Kylie Johnson 102 and Mak Mann 109.

Salem’s Jairen Stroud is currently 25th after a windy, wet and challenging day 1 of the state 2a golf tournament.  He will finish up his season and career today in the final round.  Regan Konen of Marmion leads the way with a 70, Stroud sits 8 shots off the lead.  Sacred Heart Griffin leads the team competition with a 304, Mt Carmel Chicago is 2nd at 313 and Benton is 3rd at 315 along with Mahomet Seymour and Wheaton St Francis.

In the 1a boys state tournament, Christ Our Rock’s Parker Boehne shot 6-over and currently sits in 18th place out of 112 golfers.  88 made the cut.
