The State boys and girls golf tournaments open up at various locations today. The Salem Lady Cats compete as a team at the 1a Tournament at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur. The day will begin on the Back Nine for Salem with Jaryn Haarmann teeing off at 8:30, Kylie Johnson 8:39, Mak Mann 8:48, Taylor Ice 8:57, Alyssa Paul 9:06 and Mya Russell will tee off at 9:15. Top teams and individuals will advance to Saturday’s final round.
Salem senior Jairen Stroud will compete in the 2a boys tournament held at Weibring Golf Course in Normal. Stroud will tee off on the front nine at 10:27.
Christ Our Rock’s Parker Boehne will tee off at 10:36 on the front nine at Vista Golf Course in Bloomington for the 1a state tournament. Competing as a team will be the defending state champ St Anthony Bulldogs.
