An arrest warrant has been issued in Clinton County Court for a 23-year-old Centralia man wanted in connection with a shooting last Sunday evening.
The warrant charges Jonathon Hunt with aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated battery, and aggravated domestic battery.
Under the new cashless bond law, the warrant seeks to hold Hunt without bond. Centralia Police hope Hunt will turn himself in on the charges.
Details on the shooting are still being withheld. Centralia Police have said the shooting occurred during an apparent domestic disturbance with a family member in an open area in the 500 block of North James in Centralia. The name of the person shot has not been released. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police found the vehicle Hunt was driving near the Route 161 and Route 37 intersection later last Sunday evening. No one was around the vehicle and a manhunt in the area proved unsuccessful.
