Franklin Park Bobcats had no problems in their Benton Regional opener as they advance to tomorrow’s championship following their 16-1 beat down of Casey Mount Vernon. Silas Lux homered, Kyler King doubled and Owen Tennyson drove in 3 runs. Salem returns to action against either Benton or Hamilton County.
Also in Class L at Carlyle, Centralia’s season came to an end falling to Breese 7-2. Carlyle advances to the regional finals with their 11-2 win over Wesclin.
In Class M baseball at Aviston, the hosts beat Lebanon 12-2 and Okawville over Shiloh 18-5.
In Class S today, Selmaville will take on Trinity St Mary’s at the Little League Complex for their regional semifinal after the Rockets beat Field 12-0 Monday to advance. Selmaville scored 7 times in the opening inning. Walker Crank drove in 2 runs on the day with 2 hits also from Logan Butts and Jaxon Ward. Ward was the winning pitcher going 2 innings giving up 0 runs and 0 hits with 5 ks.
Also today, Altamont Lutheran will take on Iuka today after the Pirates beat Raccoon/Kell on Monday 12-2.
