Wamac Police have arrested a 40-year-old Centralia woman on an outstanding Effingham County warrant for failure to appear on a felony theft charge. Sheila Phillips of South Lincoln was taken to the Marion County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a burglary of a camper at a home in the 300 block of Railroad Street in Alma. The owner reported being gone for about two hours Monday morning and returning to find the deadbolt broken off the camper. Initial reports do not indicate if anything was taken.
