A 32-year-old rural Centralia man was injured after the side-by-side he was a passenger flipped over Saturday night at the Abate of Illinois Little Boogie being held on land off the 19-hundred block of Adams Road in the Cartter area.

Initial information from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department indicates Johnathan Korzenewski of North Irvington Road may have sustained a head injury.  While there was an initial effort to land an Air Evac Helicopter at the scene, Korzenewski was eventually transported by United Medical Response to Salem Township Hospital where the air ambulance was also diverted.  Reports do not indicate if Korzenewski was later transported to another hospital.

Deputies say Korzenewski was a passenger on a side-by-side driven by 37-year-old Charles Dillow of Hicks Road in Alma.   Dillow escaped injury.

The accident was reported at 9:46 Saturday night.   The Salem Fire Protection District was also called to the scene to assist the victim.
