Illinois State Police say one person was injured in a single vehicle crash Wednesday night on southbound I-57 at mile marker 116 just north of the US 50 exit at Salem.
Preliminary information indicates for unknown reasons the car went off the roadway and rolled several times.
The driver, whose name has not been released, was taken by United Medical Response to Salem Township Hospital for treatment.
Salem Fire officials say he was outside of the vehicle upon their arrival. The car traveled 50 to 60 feet off the right side of the southbound lanes before coming to a stop.
The crash was reported at 7:12 Wednesday evening.
