The Marion County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a 59-year-old Iuka man in connection with an alleged road rage incident on the Iuka Road south of the Route 161 Extension.

Frank Moore was given a notice to appear for alleged aggravated assault and released on a notice to appear in court.

The sheriff’s department received a report from an alleged victim that a man later identified as Moore had stopped his vehicle in front of their vehicle, got out, and pulled a hunting type knife when approaching their vehicle.

While the alleged victim claimed that Moore struck him before returning to his vehicle and continuing southbound on the Iuka Road, Moore denied striking the other motorist. The alleged victim believed the incident occurred because they were driving slowly.

With the license plate information, police were able to identify Moore as the alleged owner of the vehicle. He voluntarily returned from his place of employment to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department for questioning.
