Selmaville Shows Well At Conquer The Castle Invite.

On Friday, New Horizon Cross Country hosted the Conquer the Castle Invite at Castleridge.  Herrin won the boys event followed by Murphysboro 2nd, Highland 3rd and New Horizion was 4th.

In the JV boys race for Selmaville, Ryder Lawson was 3^rd, Elijah DeRossett 6^th, Rafe James 9^th and Matt Blackburn 10^th.

Noah Gaston was 4^th in the varsity boys race.

Highland won the girls event with Selmaville 2nd, Murphysboro 3rd and Fairfield 4.  6^th grader and Lady Rocket Karmen Murray won the race and set a course record of 7:56.

The races were divided by grades and top finishes in the JV race include Gabby Harper 3^rd, Kenna Benjamin 5^th, Alana Howe 8^th, McKenzie Mulvany 9^th, Gabby Gaston 10,Kamora Sextion 10^th.

Carly Veach was 6^th in the varsity distance.

The event drew 18 schools and over 330 athletes.
