The 34th Annual Salem Super Cruise Car Show will be held on Saturday but at a new location.
Organizer Ken Carpenter says the event is being moved to the southwest part of Bryan Memorial Park. It has been held in the open field north of the Super Eight motel in the past, but Carpenter says attendees had wanted a place with shade in the event of hot weather.
The event will begin with registration from nine to one on Saturday. The entry fee is $20 for the first vehicle and $10 for each additional vehicle.
There will be a DJ, food trucks, pony rides, and a bounce house.
At three, the vehicles will cruise through town. The route this year will be west on Boone Street to Hawthorn Road, north on Hawthorn to Broughton, around the rear of Salem Township Hospital, then Spillway Road to Route 37. The cruise will then head south on Route 37 to the Marion County Fairgrounds and Antique Power Days. After looping through the fairgrounds, the cruise will head north back to Bryan Memorial Park.
After everyone is back in place, a large number of awards will be handed out capping the day’s activities.
Carpenter is inviting everyone out to look at the vehicles or watch the cruise.
