Another Cross Country Meet for the Christ Our Rock Silver Stallions and another 2nd place finish this afternoon at The West Frankfort Redbird Invite! After falling by just 1 point on Tuesday at Hamilton Co. The Silver Stallion boys came up just 2 points shy of 1st place today out of 8 teams with team scores and 14 teams represented, to the Herrin Tigers 73-71.
But for the Stallion Boys three 2nd place finishes this season is nothing to be ashamed of! Head coach Tim Koch says, “we are racing some really good teams and beating a lot of them!”
The Lady Stallions also had some really strong showings today as Sr. Sarah McKowen was 4th overall(20:10), and Rylee Brammeier was 7th(20:40) out of 52 runners.
For the Boys Sr. Elijah Gregory lead the way finishing 2nd place(16:07)with a fantastic 2nd half of his race, Fr. Carson Pigg was 5th(16:41) and had a great 3rd mile! Jr. Zerek Koch ran his best race of the season finishing 12th(17:11) and Jr. Isaiah Lyons was 20th(18:05) out kicking a Duquoin runner into the chute and snagging the last T-shirt, given to the Top 20 finishers! Fr. Wyatt Gregory ran a solid #5 again and rounded out the scoring in 30th(19:13). Fr. Anderson Engele had his best time of the year and finished 37th(19:55), while Soph. Liagel Lyons was 66th(23:21) respectively!
