The Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force has made their seventh arrest in a continuing round-up of those allegedly selling illegal drugs in the Salem area.

Task Force agents arrested 20-year-old Violet Fox formerly of Salem, and now listed as homeless in the Clay City area, in Clay County on Tuesday.

Fox was arrested for a Class 2 felony charge of unlawful delivery of methamphetamine.

Over several months, the task force conducted a narcotics investigation that resulted in the illicit sale of methamphetamine and other drugs to confidential sources.

Fox is currently being held at the Marion County Jail awaiting a bond hearing on September 6.  The investigation remains ongoing.

SEIDTF is comprised of the Salem Police Department, the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, the Robinson Police Department, the Mount Carmel Police Department, and the Illinois State Police. This investigation was a cooperative effort amongst the area police departments in an effort to curb drug usage and violence in the area.
