A 30-year-old Watson man has been sentenced to eight years in prison after entering a guilty plea in Marion County Court to a January armed robbery of the Spirit Shoppe on Route 37 South in Salem.

Brandon Wagner admitted to being armed with a knife when he entered the store and took money from the clerk.   There were no injuries.

After getting out of prison, Wagner will have to serve 18 months of parole.  He will be given credit for time served.   A charge of aggravated robbery in connection with the same incident was dropped as part of the plea.

Salem Police say they were able to develop leads that led to Wagner and a vehicle used in the armed robbery that registered back to Wagner’s mother.  A large kitchen or butcher knife displayed during the armed robbery was also recovered, but the undisclosed amount of money taken was never located.
