The Salem High Cross Country teams hosted their only meet of the season at the Fairgrounds yesterday. Mount Vernon won the event with 21 points followed by Salem’s 52 and Christ Our Rock with 60. Robby Shober led Salem in 7th place with Hunter Malan 8 and Alex Spencer 10. Caidien Beer was 12 and Branson Pappas 15 to round out the scoring.
Mount Vernon put 5 in the top 10 with Caedman Cook winning the event followed by Trey Mygatt 2nd, Joel Hayes 4, Brandon Etheridge 5 and Rowan Wilford 9.
Elijah Gregory was 3rd to lead the Stallions with Carson Pigg 6, Zerek Koch 13, Isaiah Lyons 18 and Wyatt Gregory 20th.
CORLHS Sarah McKowen won the Salem Quad for the 2nd straight year. Teammate Rylee Brammeier was 8th. Centralia won the meet with 42 points; Mt Vernon was 2nd with 47, Salem 3rd with 78. Christ Our Rock only had the two runners.
Salem was led by Breanna Thurman in 4th, Maci Thorsen 5th, Aila Laird 22, Ivy Donoho 23 and Eden Russell 24. Audrey Lybarger finished 26. Zelena Koch was 13th running as a freshman for Woodlawn.
