A 30-year-old Salem man faces three counts of forgery for allegedly forging and cashing checks on the account of a deceased person.
Korey Brown of Lamar Street was formally charged in Marion County Court on Friday. Bond was set at $5,000 and a public defender was appointed to represent him.
Salem Police say they began their investigation after being notified of activity on the checking account in June. They went to the business where the three checks were cashed and were able to obtain video that allegedly showed Brown as the person cashing the check.
