Salem Police say both drivers involved in a crash on West Main Street escaped serious injury and were not transported to the hospital.
Police report the crash occurred when an eastbound car driven by 19-year-old Cailynn Hodge of DeWolf Street in Odin made a left hand turn into the McDonald’s Restaurant in front of a westbound pickup driven by 45-year-old Scott Harrison of Apple Ridge Road in Iuka.
Both drivers were checked on the scene by United Medical Response.
The Salem Fire Protection District was also called to the scene and disconnected a battery of one of the vehicles to avoid a potential issue. They report both drivers were able to get out of their vehicles on their own.
Hodge was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The crash occurred at 8:11 Thursday night.
