Centralia High School Superintendent Dr. Chuck Lane presented the tentative budget for the coming fiscal year to the school board Thursday night. He’s looking at a half-million dollar surplus.
“It’s in the budget and still really up in the air a little bit. Lot of numbers we don’t quite have yet. Pretty much what revenue we are going to have we are still working on the expense side. The preliminary report tonight would be a surplus of about $500,000, but again that will be fine tuned over the next month and will have the final budget then for everyone.”
Lane also provided an update on the four classroom addition at the Annex.
“The annex project is coming along nicely. We finally have a date for the steel to be delivered and should be here by the end of the month. The roof top unit for HVAC system is in and been delivered also. So any luck by the end of September we should start seeing some work done on the outside, so that’s good progress.”
Lane reported the solar project also continues to move forward. He reports they are currently working on an agreement with Ameren Illinois for an interconnection agreement. Lane says they are still on target to begin work before the end of the year with completion in spring.
