A 30-year-old Breese man has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of second degree murder in connection with a death that occurred late last year next to Carlyle Lake following an apparent fight.
Valentin Navarro-Lopez faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced on October 30th for the death of Marcos Chavez Xiloj.
Navarro-Lopez had been facing four counts of murder in connection with the death. Kidnapping and unlawful restraint charges had been dropped earlier.
Navarro-Lopez maintained in an interview with police that Xiloj fell when throwing a rock at him and he had dragged him to the water to wash off the blood. A rock covered with blood was found near the body.
