Centralia Police say a gunshot at a west side home was fired inside a home and unfortunately was part of an attempted suicide.
The Police Department reports they received a call at 10:46 Wednesday night from an individual on West Haven threatening to shoot themselves.
Officers were immediately dispatched. The 911 dispatcher attempted to keep the subject on the phone, but they disconnected. Upon immediately calling back, they told the telecommunicator they shot themself in the chest.
Centralia Fire and Lifestar Ambulance were dispatched. The person involved was transported to the hospital where they are being treated for the gunshot wound.
Police say the incident is still under investigation.
