Two people face new felony charges in Marion County Court following weekend arrests.
22-year-old Fredi Esteban-Valencia of South Sycamore in Centralia was charged with aggravated fleeing and attempting to elude police. He is accused of disobeying at least two traffic control devices as Central City Police were trying to stop his car. Esteban-Valencia had earlier struck the squad car when rounding a corner. Bond was set at $10,000. A preliminary hearing was set for May 4th.
41-year-old Jacklyn Tate of Salem was charged with felony theft. She is accused of taking a decorative suitcase used in landscaping of a home in the 400 block of South Maple. The charge was a felony due to a prior theft conviction. Bond was set at $5,000. If released on bond, she was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim or the victim’s home. The public defender was appointed to represent her.
