Two Salem residents were injured when a crash occurred when they were trying to pass a slow-moving tractor pulling an implement on US 50 near Norton Road east of Odin early Friday night.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say 29-year-old Erika Besseck of Lowery Lane in Salem attempted to pass multiple vehicles behind the tractor when a semi directly behind the tractor also pulled out to pass. Besseck crashed into the semi and the semi then hit the implement being pulled by the tractor. The semi was driven by 48-year-old Robert White of Findlay. the tractor and implement were being driven by 45-year-old Christopher Holle of Post Oak Road in Carlyle.
The sheriff’s department reports Besseck and an eight-year-old female juvenile passenger received minor injuries, but declined hospital treatment.
Odin Fire and United Medical Response were called to assist.
The crash occurred at 5:53 Friday afternoon.
